About Us
Built to find cancer before it finds you.
Exhale Science was founded on a simple belief: the most powerful diagnostic tool in medicine should be as simple as breathing. We are building the infrastructure for breath-based cancer detection — non-invasive, accessible, and clinically rigorous.
Our Mission
Earlier detection. Better outcomes. For everyone.
Cancer kills because it is found too late. The tools we have today — imaging, biopsies, blood tests — are effective but burdensome. They require infrastructure, preparation, and patient willingness that limits their reach. We believe breath-based diagnostics can change that equation: a test so simple it can be offered at every primary care visit, in every community, at every stage of life.
Scientific rigor
Every claim we make is grounded in peer-reviewed research and validated clinical data. We do not cut corners on evidence.
Patient-first design
The patient experience drives every product decision. Non-invasive, fast, and anxiety-free is not a feature — it is the requirement.
Clinical partnership
We build with clinicians, not around them. Our platform is designed to integrate into existing workflows and support — not replace — clinical judgment.
Equitable access
Breath-based screening should be available everywhere, not just in well-resourced health systems. Accessibility is a design constraint, not an afterthought.
Our Story
From research lab to clinical platform.
Exhale Science grew out of a decade of academic research into volatile organic compound (VOC) biomarkers in exhaled breath. The science was compelling — cancer cells produce distinct metabolic signatures that appear in breath — but the path from laboratory finding to clinical tool had never been completed.
Our founders set out to close that gap: building the collection hardware, analytical instrumentation, and AI diagnostic layer needed to turn a research phenomenon into a reproducible, clinical-grade test. The result is the Exhale Science platform — the first integrated breath diagnostics system designed for routine clinical deployment.
We are currently conducting clinical validation studies in partnership with leading oncology centers, with a focus on lung, colorectal, and gastric cancer detection. Our goal is regulatory clearance and broad clinical deployment within the next three years.
